Ionix Service Manager has been named as a finalist in the prestigious Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) 2004 iAwards. The iAwards recognise companies with an outstanding product or solution in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry.
Mr Rob Durie, Chief Executive Officer of AIIA said that the products and solutions nominated in the iAwards demonstrate a strong contribution to the Australian economy, reflecting not only the industry's role as a key economic driver, but its contribution to society.
Ionix Service Manager was nominated as a finalist in the Software Implementation category, based on the company's successful implementation of a Service Management solution at Macedon Ranges Shire Council in Victoria, Australia.
Ionix Service Manager was selected by Macedon Ranges Shire Council as the only vendor able to provide a software solution that had the combination of comprehensive functionality, usability, and ability to run over the web on the Council's existing infrastructure, that would make the Council's project a success.
The Council has implemented Ionix Service Manager software to handle all its customer requests and enquiries. By connecting its widespread offices to the Ionix Service Manager system, the Council has been able to eliminate duplication of work, and enable prioritising of projects across the entire shire, instead of department by department.
The Ionix Service Manager system runs to multiple locations across the Internet from a single server in the council's central administration office. Most council staff access Ionix Service Manager via simple dial-up modems connected to their PCs.
"Ionix Service Manager's early investment in developing a web-based architecture anticipated, and resolved, precisely the obstacles faced by an organisation such as Macedon Ranges Shire Council," said Keith Reynolds of Ionix Service Manager.
